bk World and Fastned Open First Joint Charging Lounge in France
The Yutz site near Thionville serves cross-border commuters to Luxembourg and holiday traffic on the A31.
bk World opens two new charging lounges in Switzerland in early July: in Schaffhausen and in St. Margrethen, both at charging hubs operated by partner Fastned. The move tightens the company’s Swiss network exactly where most cross-border traffic between Switzerland, Germany and Austria flows.
Both sites sit on corridors few drivers pass without stopping. Schaffhausen in the north is bordered by German territory on three sides and serves as a gateway toward Lake Constance and southern Germany. St. Margrethen lies on the Rhine, a stone’s throw from the Austrian border, in the tri-country region around Lake Constance. Drivers who charge here rarely happen to be in town – they are on their way somewhere.
The sites at Gennersbrunnerstrasse 64 in Schaffhausen and Neudorfstrasse 31 in St. Margrethen offer an accessible restroom, a coffee station, chilled drinks and snacks, and seating where charging time becomes time well spent. Not a makeshift bench beside the charger, but a space where you arrive rather than wait.
With these two openings, the bk World network in Switzerland continues to grow – one of six European markets where the company operates today. The partnership with Fastned now spans several countries, from Germany through Switzerland to Belgium.
