Nothing less was our ambition in the development of bk World.
During a loading stop in the middle of the night, the idea for bk World was born. It had to be better than that.
The result of our work is a sustainable lounge for drivers of electric cars, where waiting time becomes quality time.
The whole concept of bk World ist thought from the user’s point of view.
What do they really need during electric car charging? Of course, sanitary facilities are available in the bk World and a comfortable lounge area invites you to stay. The dispensing of the various products, such as food and drinks, is fully automated. The food that can be purchased here is healthy and fresh. Small office corners, a children’s play area as well as a green environment tutn a necessary stay into a welcome break.
SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE
The bk World lounges are highly climate-friendly. They have a positive CO2 balance over their lifetime. The construction phase is also taken into account.
The bk World locations are equipped with a solar system on the roof, which supplies a large part of the electrical consumers. Built in solid wood construction from certified spruce wood, the very basis of our Qubes is sustainable.
In addition, an ecological insulation material with very high thermal performance is used. The efficient building envelope minimises heat loss and the ventilation has a highly efficient heat recovery system and energy-saving fans. Heat is generated by an air heat pump.
The bk World Qubes are modularly combinable and transportable. This means, that they can be moved quickly if necessary.
2023 bk World wins the European Green Award.
CHARGING STATIONS
The bk lounges are currently located at various Tesla Supercharger fast-charging parks. Electric vehicles of all brands with a CCS connection can be charged there with up to 250 kWh.
In the coming years, bk World locations will be built across Europe. This will make fast charging of electric cars on the motorway as pleasant and convenient as possible for long-distance travellers.

The bk World in Bayreuth was officially opened. So even more electric car drivers can enjoy now their charging time.
Gerolsteiner exclusive water partner of bk World
Since October, there has been a new source of refreshment in the bk World locations: Gerolsteiner mineral water from the Vulkaneifel region.
bk World opens in Schierling
New bk World opens in Schierling Drivers of electric cars can look forward to the growing network of comfortable bk World stay lounges at fast-charging parks. On the B15n, south of Regensburg and not far from the A93, bk World has opened its next location at a Tesla Supercharger Park.
